Original, one-of-a-kind framed art by Ayse Sirin Budak. Ochre, earth and jewel tones are featured with hints of navy acrylics and hand-sewn thread on handmade cotton paper. Born and raised in Istanbul, Ayse Sirin Budak is a self-taught artist who currently pursues her passion for art at her home studio in New York.
Sold in a wooden frame with tan linen matte. Frame measures 14" x 17", art is approximately 8.5" x 10.5" inches (handmade, small variations expected).
Ayse considers color to be an instrument that serves a greater purpose, which is to evoke our most basic emotions, and makes sure the color she uses becomes the subject in itself.
She mainly creates in mixed media, mostly acrylic, natural ink and fabric on cotton paper or linen canvas. Ayse emphasizes the concept of 'wabi sabi', the beauty of imperfection which is the reason she is naturally drawn to work with handmade cotton papers, Lokta papers, Dastar fabrics, and raw canvases; for their distinctive uniqueness and imperfect textures.
