Natural Dye Silk Bandana
Naturally-dyed raw silk noil bandana, featuring a slightly nubby texture that is warm and slightly wicking. Made in California and available in Black Walnut (tan) and Osage (yellow).
Yellow: Made with Osage wood and Rust, an iron liquor made from found objects. Dot-Danna is screen printed by hand with polka dot pattern inspired by turn-of-the century rotary prints.
Tan: Naturally-dyed with Black Walnut hulls. Screen-printed by hand with a pattern inspired by Art Deco illustrator George Barbier, 18th century French textiles AND a border tribute to Indian woodblock printing.
100% Silk Noil, measures approximately 20" x 20". Bandanas may have a classic 1 selvedge edge detail. We use the full width of fabric when possible to reduce waste. Naturally dyed color may vary across dye lots. Expect slight fading and patina over time, this is inherent to textiles dyed with plants and should be embraced. Variation in dye color, print, and sewing is testament to the handmade process.
