Mudcloth Textiles | Burkina Faso
Fair trade, hand-dyed and handwoven mudcloth textiles from Habibou Coulibaby, a textile artist from the Bamana people and originally from Mali. Habibou is now located in Burkina Faso and is an active member of a local dyer's cooperative.
Coulibably uses minerals, clays and plants to naturally dye his fabrics, an ancient tradition called "Bogola Fini" in the local Bambara language.
These textiles measure approximately 92" x 124". These would be perfect as a lightweight blanket, throw, picnic blanket or shawl. Each textile is completely unique and variations are to be expected. Please indicate in a note at check out if you would like additional photos of available styles, we are happy to accommodate.
Care: Spot Clean or dry clean, keep out of sustained direct sunlight to avoid fading of natural dyes.
