Thread Spun x Folk Project: Mudcloth + Upcycled Huipil Foldover Clutch
This handmade and reversible foldover clutch is part of a very limited collaboration between Thread Spun and fellow San Diego brand, Folk Project. The clutch features hand-woven and naturally-dyed indigo mudcloth from an artisan cooperative in Burkina Faso on one side and a piece of a hand-cross stitched and upcycled huipil from Chiapas, Mexico. It was sewn by a resettled refugee artisan paid above a fair wage in San Diego, California. 100% of the profits will be donated to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization ACLU.
Each clutch is lined with 100% organic cotton and measures approximately 11" wide by 8" long. Spot clean.
Your purchase reflects the artisanship of diverse people, places and cultures, and creates fair wages for vulnerable people and makers around the world. As each pouch is made by hand and is entirely one-of-a-kind, please expect small variations in size/styling from the clutch pictured. Your clutch will be made from the textiles pictured, but will utilize different pieces. This is the beauty of handmade, the creative expression of individuals, and supporting unique refugee artisans from around the world.
